The veterans and protesters of Colorado Springs know that they both want peace, they just argue different sides of the same coin. As the Veterans Day parade passed by the epicenter of the Occupy Colorado Springs movement on the corner of Bijou Street and Tejon Street, protesters held up signs that were very appropriate for the occasion. Veteran and protester Taylor Gordon of Colorado Springs held up a sign that said “Bring my brothers home” as he cheered the parade. Other signs said “Stop war and greed” and “Bring our troops home! Support Our Troops!”
The Occupy Colorado Springs information booth dedicated a table to signing greeting cards to send to troops overseas. Carl Wright, the occupation cook, manned a table set up to give free coffee and refreshments to veterans. You can see how the moment was a great time for all involved in the video on YouTube here.
